I love to draw and paint all kinds of horses, so drawing Zenyatta my favorite racehorse with her jockey Mike Smith riding this wonderful mare was very rewarding. The challenge of horseracing fine art is capturing the action, wind, and muscles. It is exciting and the jockey riding on top was another new experience that occurred for this animal artist. I am always looking to capturing animals in the moment and show the expression and action. Zenyatta is my first famous race racehorse painting for this animal artist. I am available for horse and rider commissions at this time.I know the plight of racehorses is not a positive one. Racehorses are bred more for speed and not for endurance sorry to say. That is the reason we see so many more accidents that are tragic on the track. There are many horse rescue agencies and they are all worthy, I chose Second Chance to donate 10% of my profit to because I personally now of the work they do at this racehorse rescue foundation.
